A warm, friendly welcome and teacher availability are hallmarks of the Primary School. Our school has decided on having all teachers available after school to greet parents as they arrive to pick up their children. We seek to build trust and connectedness to community at every opportunity. Join in mini K-3 assemblies each morning , finding out the latest news and events for the week.
Each year a number of Year 6 students are chosen to be school leaders amongst their peers. They are diligent in performing responsible jobs like delivering messages and putting up the flag and giving special attention and help to younger students in our school. Year 6 leaders attend a Leadership conference each year.
Classrooms are comfortable, well lit and air conditioned learning spaces, filled with student artwork and investigations. Students have one main classroom teacher but enjoy the benefit of specialist teachers such as Learning support, ESL and the RFF teacher who usually teachers students for 1 ½ hours each week. Our Kindergarten and Year 1 classes have full time teacher’s aides.
Years 2-6 also benefit from teachers aides that work for parts of the day in the classroom. This brings the blessing of having many adults that students can count on for help and guidance throughout the day. Being a relatively small school, each teacher has the opportunity to know children from other grades. Both K-2 and 3-6 have sporting activities each Tuesday, allowing for children to be involved in activities that match their ability and interests.
